Whenever a company claims that their promotion is for a limited time, it could either be a perpetual promo that aims to lure potential customers to purchase thinking that the offer won’t last long, or that the limited-time promo is exactly what it says on the tin. In Telekom Malaysia (TM) UniFi ADVANCE’s case, it’s the latter. UniFi ADVANCE 30’s and UniFi ADVANCE 50’s introductory prices of RM179/month and RM229/month are now back to their original rates of RM199/month and RM249/month, respectively. All prices we’re about to discuss are not inclusive of the 6% GST.
To compensate for the price “hike”, TM is throwing in a free Voice Pack/Plan that gives you 600 minutes of voice calls to all networks, which was previously an RM20 add-on. Subsequent calls are charged at 10 sen per minute, but calls to TM landlines are still free. A new sign-up now also gives you a free one-month subscription. It seems that TM‘s introductory price for UniFi ADVANCE is to convince existing users to upgrade; now it’s is focusing more on getting new subscribers. However, I cannot help but wonder, why would any potential new subscriber choose a free one-month subscription over RM20 cheaper monthly bills?
Also, while the promotional price of UniFi ADVANCE 30 is RM179/month, it only comes with either HyppTV Aneka Pack or HyppTV Varnam Pack; HyppTV Ruby Pack is RM10 more at RM189/month. Now, all three HyppTV Packs that come with UniFi ADVANCE 30 are at an equal level playing field of RM199/month. HyppTV Jumbo Pack remains an RM30 add-on, so in this case, UniFi ADVANCE 30 with HyppTV Jumbo Pack will be RM229/month. UniFi ADVANCE 50 remains an RM50 top-up; so in this instance, it is now RM249/month with the standard HyppTV Pack, or RM279/month with HyppTV Jumbo Pack.

With this knowledge in mind, you can be certain that TM will increase its UniFi PRO 100Mbps plans back to their “original” prices in three months’ time, which are RM30 more per month. So if you’re interested in upgrading to the 100Mbps plan, the time to act is now.
All new TM UniFi fiber plans also come with a 12-month access of iflix, and 3 months of Viu trial. Recently, UniFi ADVANCE 30 and 50 have also had their upload speeds increased two-fold.
