This year’s Teacher’s Day celebration receives one more gift from redONE with the introduction of Teachers Reward Data8 (TRData8) plan. The plan gives up to 12 months of free line as well as 500 MB of data every month, and is available to all Malaysian teachers/lecturers (foreign teachers are not eligible for this offer) in both public and private institutions. The offer is valid till 31 May 2016, and is available now at all redON sales channels.
The TRData8 plan will be given free to the eligible teachers/lecturers who are newly registering or porting over. Existing subscribers will also be able to register for the line once they validate their teaching profession, but can only have TRData8 as their supplementary line under their current primary line; which is still a great deal considering that plans start from as low as RM 8 a month. And if coverage is a concern, interested parties should rest easy in knowing that redONE, being an MVNO, rides on Celcom Axiata’s mobile infrastructure.
New users are allowed to sign up for up to 2x TRData8 lines, and redONE is waiving both the registration fee as well as the deposit. On the down side though, the credit limit for this subscription will be pegged at RM 50 with those waivers. If a user requires a higher credit limit, then a standard deposit will be required. Subscribers will also be bound by a 6-month contract but those wishing to terminate will only have to pay a RM 50 penalty, which some may describe as a slap on the wrist but it still works out to about 6 months worth of monthly payments.
As mentioned earlier, TRData8’s monthly commitment of RM 8 will be borne by redONE for the first 12 months, and subscribers will be charged from the 13th month onwards. But, even after the free promo ends, subscribers will still get to enjoy the monthly allocation of 500 MB, which is similar to the redONE’s existing Data8 plan. For those looking to add-on more data to their plans, they can do so by subscribing to any of the recurring data bundles that are available. This can be done while they’re registering for the lines or even after their lines have been activated, but it has to be done between the 1st and the 10th of every month.
