It now looks like Digi too is bundling unlimited calls and SMS into its data centric SmartPlan lineup. The unlimited offer has been applied to the 3 highest tiers out of the 5 plans under the ‘More Calls & SMS’ package: namely the Digi SmartPlan 98, Digi SmartPlan 148, and Digi SmartPlan 238. As for the remaining two under the package, these come with bundled minutes and messages too but they’re limited: Digi SmartPlan 50 and Digi SmartPlan 78 come with 400 mins+400 SMS and 800 mins+800 SMS respectively.
The unlimited calls and SMSes are available at any time and apply to both on and off-net numbers within Malaysia, including fixed lines. In other words, it is meant for domestic use only. However, the offer excludes video calls, special numbers, and toll-free numbers (1-300 and 1-800).
For those who would want to forgo the unlimited calls and SMS, they could opt for the same plans under the ‘More Internet’ package. This removes the unlimited feature from the top three tiers and instead, introduces bundled minutes and SMSes, and bulks up the data quota.
Interestingly, the cheapest plan of the lot in this ‘More Internet’ package gets a RM 5/month rebate for 12 months during the promotion period. The plan also gets an additional 1 GB of data which will remain valid for as long as the subscriber’s plan is active. The new SmartPlan 50 at RM 45 offer is available to both new and old customers but requires a visit to Digi’s centres to activate. Do note though that this offer is not valid for those who sign-up for any contracts.
No matter which packages users pick, Digi is now giving an additional 1 GB of high speed internet monthly, and this is valid for all SmartPlan 78 and above plans for 6 months. This will be added on top of all the plans’ own internet quota as listed below:

The Digi SmartPlan 98, 148, and 238 plans in both packages also include Unlimited Social benefit that allows for unlimited usage of WhatsApp, WeChat, and Facebook (although there’s no specific mention if that includes audio and video downloads too via the apps). The Unlimited Social benefit for SmartPlan 78 drops Facebook, while SmartPlan 50 does not come with any at all.
