Maxis has informed us that since June 26th, 2014, its has dropped the ‘Fair Usage Policy’ (FUP) for its MaxisONE plan to now truly have limitless voice minutes and SMS allocations. Previously when it was first launched, you would only have 3,000 voice minutes and 3,000 SMS allocated monthly, which is already quite generous in itself.
Even then, for heavy texters to friends and family, that would give you around 100 SMS messages per day. For voice minutes, we’re looking at more than an hour and a half per day. With the FUP removed, customers of MaxisONE can now have a worry-free experience when making calls or sending text messages.
For MaxisONE plan subscribers who’re paying RM128 a month, the limitless minutes and SMS’ apply only to domestic mobile and landline numbers on both to Maxis (on-net) or other operators (off-net). MaxisONE plan lite subscribers of RM78 per month get the true unlimited minutes and SMS’ only to Maxis mobile numbers. Both plans exclude video calls, calls to special numbers, 1-300/1-800 numbers, and the 121 voicemail number.
The data quota remains; MaxisONE plan lite gets 1GB per month while MaxisONE proper gets 2GB quota. The latter can be upgraded to have up to 6GB monthly data quota for a RM30 top-up per GB.
The revised terms and conditions of MaxisONE can be found here. The official page, here. To read more about MaxisONE, check out our earlier coverage here.
