Usually when Apple announces its new iPhone, it won’t be months until we get it here in Malaysia. During the iPhone SE unveiling, Malaysia is not in the list for the April release window, but the company did promise that the device will be in over 100 countries by the end of May 2016. Looks like we won’t have to wait long for this; all four Malaysian carriers have expressed their participation and that they will all be offering the iPhone SE soon, though they did not say exactly when just yet.

iPhone SE ROI Maxis

Maxis was the first to open up its iPhone SE registration of interest, sometime on March 23rd. Don’t get too excited for this is not a pre-order; all you’re doing is just to give Maxis your email address, and it will inform you when the iPhone SE is available to order, with its MaxisONE and iValue plans, of course. I’m sure Maxis will also offer the iPhone SE with its Zerolution ownership program.

iPhone SE ROI U Mobile

U Mobile pulled a surprising move this time as it’s usually the last to get an iPhone allocated for it to offer its customers. Sometime on March 25th, U Mobile too has opened up its registration of interest for the iPhone SE. U Mobile offers iPhones with its iPlans, for both postpaid and prepaid subscribers. For easy ownership, customers with a card can go for the UPackage installment plan with “no interest rate”, according to U Mobile. For those without a card, U MicroCredit is also an installment plan that doesn’t require any swipe of the card, but it does have a “low” interest rate.

Update (March 26th): Celcom and Digi have expressed their participation to offer the iPhone SE soon, too.

iPhone SE ROI Digi

Digi followed up on U Mobile a day later on March 26th I believe, to open up its own registration of interest for the iPhone SE. Digi has its usual Easy Payment Plan (EPP), an installment plan to own a device bundled with Digi Postpaid. Speaking of which, its newly-announced Digi Postpaid offers a wide range of options (12 plans in total) from as low as RM28 per month, up to RM238-per-month that gives a whopping 20GB monthly internet. All Digi Postpaid plans also offer internet rollover, to carry forward some unused data quota over to the next month.

iPhone SE banner Celcom

Meanwhile, Celcom doesn’t want to be left out of the party and displayed an unclickable banner to announce it too, will offer the iPhone SE soon. Celcom has its own device ownership program called NewPhone and I’m sure when the time comes, you can also get the iPhone SE this way. As for plans, Celcom has its FIRST Blue and FIRST Gold postpaid plans. While FIRST Blue remains unchanged, FIRST Gold is now cheaper (at RM80/month, from RM100/month), offers more data (5GB all-day data, from 4GB), and more data rollover to the next month (5GB, from 4GB). Problem is, this Celcom FIRST Gold promotion only runs until March 31st 2016, but hopefully Celcom will extend it until after the iPhone SE is out.
